It snowed here in Chengdu, a rare occasion for a location with the same latitude as Austin, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida. The snow even stuck to bushes and car rooftops which made for an interesting morning with international school students discovering what it really means to slip on a patch of ice.
Phil and I were able to take a late evening walk through the snowfall, which put us in the holiday mood. Phil even got in the holiday spirit with some snowballs, which brought a pretty interesting reaction from local Chengduren who couldn’t figure out if throwing snow was some weird form of spousal abuse. We were so jolly from the snow that we decided to up and leave town for the holidays. We’re off to South Africa with our good friends from Chengdu for the next three weeks. We’ll try to post updates of our adventures when possible, but if we don’t catch you beforehand, Merry Christmas!
